Lionel Messi dazzled once again as Inter Miami notched up a 3-1 win over Atlanta United in an Eastern Conference-fixture in the 2026 season of Major League Soccer at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday.

With this win, the Herons continue to sit second in the Conference standings, now 11 points behind Nashville.

Miami’s front three, comprising Messi, Luis Suarez, and German Berterame, were all involved to help the side register its 15th win of the regular season.

Messi scored twice in four minutes in the second half after Berterame had put the Herons ahead just before half-time. Suarez, meanwhile, finished the match with two assists.

On the other hand, substituted Fabrice Picault won and scored a late penalty to end Miami’s clean sheet record; the Herons conceded a goal after two shutouts.
