The Board of Directors of PZ Cussons, a leading manufacturer of personal healthcare products and consumer goods, has recorded N260.46 billion revenue for the first quarter of the 2027 financial year, which represents 10% rise compared with N59.014 billion achieved in the corresponding period in 2025.

A breakdown analysis of the company’s unaudited financial results revealed that Cost of Sales rose by 5%, moving from N43.11 billion in the first quarter of the 2025 financial year to N45.06 billion in the corresponding period in 2026 financial year, while Gross Profit grew by 24%, from N15.90 billion in Q1, 2025, to ₦19.78 billion in Q1, 2026.

According to the Company Secretary, Oghenekevwe Ogefere, the total operating profit for the Q1 2027 financial year rose to ₦8.54 billion from ₦5.85 billion in the corresponding period in 2026, reflecting improved operating performance.

Ogefere attributed the growth to a favourable mix of volume and pricing, as well as the strength of the Group’s brands across its relevant categories. She also stated that the performance reflected the Group’s continued focus on sustainable revenue growth, operational efficiency, and strengthening of the business’s underlying performance.

“Profit before tax was ₦9.09 billion, while profit after tax was ₦4.63 billion. These figures were lower than in the corresponding period last year, which included ₦15.74 billion in non-recurring gains. The Group recorded ₦0.51 billion in non-recurring gains in the current quarter. Gross margin improved to approximately 30.5%, from 26.9% a year earlier,” she said.

She emphasised that the company remains focused on sustaining revenue growth, improving operating performance, and delivering long-term value for its stakeholders.
