Romanian toyboy who married British vicar, 81, flaunts new lifestyle of luxury goods and business-class flights after spending £1million and inheriting the OAP's £150,000 estate

Flying business class, unboxing endless designer bags and partying around the world, this is the lavish lifestyle of influencer Florin Marin, who inherited thousands of pounds following the death of his British pensioner husband in 2020.

Now, six years later, Mr Marin, 33, shows few signs of financial struggle, regularly showcasing his luxurious life to his nearly 50,000 TikTok followers.

Mr Marin, from Romania, was left a £2,000-a-month pension and £150,000 after his partner, former vicar Philip Clements, died aged 81 during the Covid pandemic.

Mr Clements, from Eastry in Kent, moved to Romania to be with Mr Marin in 2017, selling his £215,000 home in Sandwich, Kent to buy a flat in Bucharest, transferring ownership into his new husband's name.

Their age gap raised eyebrows, and the two even appeared on Jeremy Kyle's former ITV show. 

Mr Clements said at the time: 'I love him to bits - if we were permanently separated, I would be the most unhappy person in the world.'

He had served as a priest for 50 years with the Anglican Church but he retired before marrying Mr Marin. The couple met in 2015 on the gay dating app Grindr. 

Since Mr Clements' death, Mr Marin has already been in two long-term relationships, first with Spaniard Jeronimo before moving on to 50-year-old German-Italian hotel boss Giovanni Messina.

Now, the 33-year-old has revealed to the Daily Mail that he and Mr Messina opened up their relationship two years ago, and that he now has a new ‘mistress’, as he describes him, a 50-year-old Bulgarian businessman.

'We met in May at Gran Canaria pride on a naked cruise ship,' he told the Daily Mail. 

Mr Marin, an avid traveller, says he ‘does not spend a penny’ on his lavish trips or designer clothes, which are instead funded by either his new lover or Mr Messina, who he claims ‘sometimes gets a little jealous’ and competes with his new beau. 

Last month he documented a trip around the US, taking in Pennsylvania, Washington DC and New York City.

In several videos posted in August, Mr Marin shows off his business-class seat as he sips champagne and carries out his skincare routine during the transatlantic flight from Frankfurt to New York.

After arriving in the Big Apple, the influencer, who posts regularly, showed viewers the view from his luxury hotel overlooking Times Square before sharing videos of himself dancing and taking part in TikTok trends in the famous square.

Other clips from the trip show him dancing in front of the White House and travelling around in a car, all while wearing what appears to be a favourite Versace shirt and Gucci backpack.

And Mr Marin is clearly a lover of luxury fashion, with several videos on his account showing him unboxing designer gifts he says are from the Bulgarian businessman. 

Meanwhile, Mr Marin says Mr Messina has put his hotel business in his name so he can earn an income and is secure, aside from the £2,000 he earns monthly from Mr Clements' pension.

Mr Marin and Mr Clements' relationship caused shockwaves and drew harsh criticism from the vicar's family, with his brothers calling the Romanian a 'gold-digger'.

The Romanian influencer told the Daily Mail that he and Mr Clements burned through £1million during their five-year relationship. 

Mr Clements tragically died soon after moving to Romania after falling ill in May 2020 after running out of medication during the coronavirus lockdown.

Despite testing negative for Covid-19, he passed away overnight on May 31 in a room unable to receive visitors due to lockdown restrictions.

Mr Marin said at the time he was upset about Mr Clements's death but that two days of mourning 'is enough' and that his late husband would not want him to be sad.

He also said Mr Clements had refused to go to hospital for several days – developing a fever and becoming disoriented – before Mr Marin insisted on taking him there.

Mr Marin began seeing hotel boss Messina in 2022, moving to Germany to be with him. 

Earlier posts showed the pair on glamorous holidays together in destinations such as Gstaad and Lake Como. 

Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2024, Mr Marin said: 'I do have expansive extravagant holidays, maybe too many.

'I met my new partner on the Planet Romeo, it's a gay app... Giovanni is a lovely man and I am very much in love.'

'We met when I was a bit low and suffering from anxiety - I can't stay a widow all my life, you know.'

'Philip was such a lovely man, I think about him all the time and he's never far from my thoughts,' he told the Daily Mail.

'I will always be very grateful to him - he taught me manners because he was a lovely gentleman.

'We were so happy together and I'm sad he is not with me anymore. He secured my life, he did everything to make sure I was happy and I think about him all the time.'

He said he visited a medium who assured him his former husband is 'always walking behind' him and is proud and happy with the life he is leading. 

'I have a big portrait of him in the house, so I have him with me all the time. In Romania, I keep his armchair and walking stick in the home.'

'He was the man who loved me infinitely,' he added. 

However, his relationship with Mr Clements' brothers is tense, and they were reportedly uninvited from the funeral because of their issues with Mr Marin. 

'I don't speak with Philip's two blood brothers, they p***ed me off,' he said.

'Philip was my husband and I was entitled to what I got. People will always talk and have their opinions which is fine, but they don't make me feel bad or guilty.'

Mr Marin said he sold the home he owned with Mr Clements in Bucharest and bought a much larger house with a pool.

To those who judge his age-gap relationships, he says people need to 'mind their own business'.

'If they don't want to mind their business, then they should do what I did and not have this jealousy and envy towards me,' he added.
