Belgium Top Scorer Race: Little Known Nigerian Battling Super Eagles Striker

Belgium top division side La Louvière have unearthed a gem in relatively unknown Nigerian forward Mustapha Isah Ubandoma who is firmly in the top scorer race after six round of games, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The 22 year old joined the team in the summer from Norwegian side Kristiansund and hasn’t taken time to settle in his new surroundings with five goals in six games.

Largely operating as a winger on either flanks or centre forward, he is said to be the breakthrough star of the early stages of the league in Belgium despite playing for a modest side.

So far he is locked on the same number of goals with Nigeria international striker Rafiu Durosinmi as the top scorer in the league, and if he maintains his form it will be a matter of time before he become a teammate of his rival in the national team setup of Nigeria.

Largely unknown in Nigeria his short career has seen him play in Denmark, Norway and now Belgium since moving to Europe in the 2022/2023 season from Abuja based Academy HB.
