Jessie Wallace's fiancé pays sweet tribute after EastEnders' emotional Zoe Slater death scenes

Jessie Wallace's fiancé is just as much an EastEnders fan as the rest of us as he recently praised his partner's emotional scenes in the aftermath of Zoe Slater's tragic death.

The BBC soap has just aired a dramatic twist for Zoe, played by Michelle Ryan, as she secretly nursed a head injury. Despite her mum Kat's concerns, Zoe downplayed it and ended up dying in her sleep.

Kat, played by Slater, was the one who found Zoe's lifeless body in a harrowing development, with the soap subsequently airing a standalone episode focused on the Slater-Moon family's grief.

Taking to Instagram yesterday (14 September), Wallace's partner Justin Gallwey praised his lovely fiancée and her "amazing" acting.

"Don't think I've ever posted anything regarding my lovely Fiancée and the amazing skill that she has in her delivery of powerful scenes and storylines," he began alongside three images of Wallace and Ryan as Kat and Zoe.

"All I can say is the scenes from last night just prove my point and such a bittersweet ending to 2 iconic characters on the screen relationship," Gallwey added.

"RIP, Zoe Slater AkA Michelle Ryan," he concluded, urging fans to grab tissues to watch the sad scenes.

Yesterday's episode kicked off after Kat's horrifying discovery. Still in shock, the Queen Vic landlady kept Zoe's death a secret from her family and even made Zoe a cup of tea to try and warm her up before slowly realising her daughter wouldn't come back.

Kat's behaviour raised concerns for husband Alfie, particularly when she prevented Jasmine and Josh from going up to their mum Zoe's room.

A suspicious Alfie then went upstairs himself, finding Zoe dead and urging to call the police, as Kat locked herself in with her daughter.

The powerful episode ended with Alfie managing to convince Kat to let go of Zoe and call the authorities, as Jean also had a touching goodbye with Ryan's character.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
