Jailer 2 Trailer Review: Tiger Ka Hukum Returns! Rajinikanth Promises Bigger Villains, Bigger Action & A Box Office Storm
Rajinikanth is back and how! The superstar is returning with the sequel to his box office hit Jailer 2. This time, the stakes and style are both at their peak. The makers of Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial have dropped the trailer of the film just 2 weeks ahead of its grand theatrical release. The superstar was last seen in the film Coolie, impressing all with his suave style. And now, he returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian!
The trailer for the upcoming Tamil drama opens with Suraj Venjaramoodu questioning a man in a pit. He wants to know from him where Muthuvel Pandian is. But it seems that no one knows where Muthuvel Pandian is. Rajinikanth’s character has clearly rattled many goons, especially after he killed Varman in Part 1. Meanwhile, Pandian is living under cover as a driver, enduring insults from his employers. The narrative explores higher stakes and a larger criminal network, following the aftermath of the first film, in which Pandian dismantled a smuggling syndicate.

The Jailer 2 trailer has focused on the high points of the film that make it a worthy theatrical watch. The franchise already has fans after the success of Jailer in 2023. Many have been eagerly waiting for the release and wondering what surprises are in store from the makers. Catering to this excitement, the Jailer 2 trailer has been cut well, giving a tease into the exciting world of the retired jailer. Not just Rajinikanth, but the much-talked-about cameos of Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal will be returning for the sequel. While Vijay Sethupathi will be making a cameo in the film, he was not seen in the trailer.
Another interesting casting choice is Vidya Balan. She plays a confident Kaantha in the film, and her conversation with Rajinikanth in the trailer is too good. We also see Mithun Chakraborty in a wheelchair in one scene, and Jackie Shroff flexing his muscles. SJ Suryah, who is probably Kollywood’s most interesting villain, plays Badhou Kapak, one of the main challenges for our dear retired jailer. Suraj Venjaramoodu as Dileep also makes for a scary villain in the film.
The challenges for Rajinikanth’s jailer have been doubled in Part 2, which means the entertainment will also be at its peak. In the trailer, we hear the jailer say that he believes in bringing all his enemies under one roof and bombing the building. This means we can expect a brilliant showdown with all the major characters present, and that is such an exciting prospect.
And Anirudh Ravichander seems to have upped his game in the music department while retaining the essence of Jailer 1 and its popular music. Overall, Jailer 2 trailer looks promising, with very interesting characters and oodles of style from our superstar Rajni. Watch the film on the largest possible screen on October 15.
