Translate

KANGAR: A motivational speaker linked to allegations of sexual harassment and grooming involving minors has been remanded for another two days to assist police investigations into a new report.

The latest remand order was issued by magistrate Ana Rozana Mohd Nor at the Kangar Court Complex today and runs until tomorrow.

The suspect was previously remanded for two days on Oct 3 following an application by the investigating officer.

The order was granted by senior assistant registrar Mohd Amiruldin Roslan at the same court complex.

He was granted police bail yesterday afternoon after the initial remand period ended, but was immediately rearrested by the Intelligence and Operations Unit of the Kangar district Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for further action.

The fresh remand followed a report lodged by a 19-year-old woman.

The latest investigation is being conducted under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

The suspect, dressed in black, arrived at the court complex at 8.26am and was seen leaving in a police van at 10.11am.

Previously, several women came forward on social media claiming to have been sexually harassed and manipulated by the speaker.

The speaker allegedly approached victims through TikTok, purportedly on the pretext of work or education matters, before allegedly inviting them to become "sugar babies" and check into hotels.
