Esethu’s alleged ex-girlfriend spills the tea on their rocky romance

Obie Mavuso, the alleged ex-girlfriend of Esethu Seku, has spilled some hot tea about their rocky relationship back in 2018.

Seku, a 32-year-old project administrator, is currently participating in the third season of Married at First Sight on Mzansi Magic, where she has been paired with Prince Masuku.

In a TikTok video with over 800 comments, Obie Mavuso starts by sharing the backstory of her troubled marriage before allegedly “messing around” with Esethu.

Obie explained that she happily paid all the bills during her short-lived marriage. However, she claimed her spouse switched up on her after finding employment.

According to Obie, her former spouse spearheaded a smear campaign in 2017 that ruined her reputation. But she managed to bounce back and filed for divorce the following year.

OBIE MAVUSO SPILLS SOME HOT TEA ON ESETHU SEKU 

After drawing the curtain on her marriage, Obie revealed that her relationship with Esethu had been equally disappointing.

Upon watching Married at First Sight, she said that she noticed concerning patterns in Esethu, such as being drawn to people who have gone through a divorce and those she believes are misunderstood in society.

“I then started messing around with Esethu Seku, the one that’s on Married at First Sight. And watching MAFS makes me see that there’s a pattern with this woman,” she said.

“She likes going for people who have been divorced. She likes actually thinking that she can save people that she considers misunderstood,” she added.

Obie also shared that although she was genuinely fond of Esethu and her child, she ultimately decided to end the relationship because Esethu’s need for social media validation was another red flag.

“I liked her and everything, but she lives for validation of her fans on social media. Every time I would tell her, ‘Don’t post us on Twitter,’ she would feel some type of way,” she said.

“She would disengage with me; there would be silent treatment happening. And she’s very sensitive to boundaries,” she continued.

“When I would enforce a boundary and tell her, ‘Please don’t do this,’ she would go and post, trying to win sympathy from people,” she added.

TikTok users mostly agreed with Obie’s description of Esethu. However, one user questioned whether the video was a subtle marketing strategy for Obie’s book, which she promoted at the end of the clip.
