2026 Bar exams enter final day; results due in January

MANILA, Philippines — More than 12,000 aspiring lawyers entered the final day of the 2026 Bar Examinations on Sunday, September 13, with results tentatively set for release in early January 2027.

Examinees are taking Criminal Law in the morning and are scheduled to take Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics, with Practical Exercises in the afternoon.

Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Gaerlan, chair of the 2026 Bar Examinations, announced on September 6 that the results are tentatively scheduled for release in early January.

As of press time, the high court had yet to release attendance figures for the third and final examination day.

A total of 12,017 examinees returned for the second day of the exams on Sept. 9, or 99.9% of the record 12,029 candidates who completed the first day.

On the first examination day on Sept. 6, candidates took Political and Public International Law in the morning and Commercial and Taxation Laws in the afternoon.

They returned on September 9 for Civil Law and Land Titles and Deeds in the morning, followed by Labor Law and Social Legislation in the afternoon.

The three-day examinations are being administered across 15 local testing centers nationwide.
