Bradley Cross gives Kaizer Chiefs positive injury update

Translate

Kaizer Chiefs left-back Bradley Cross says he is fully fit and ready to help the team after missing most of the club’s matches this season due to injury.

The 25-year-old returned to action last month, featuring in two matches after suffering an injury during pre-season.

Cross was a regular at left-back for Amakhosi last season, with his performances earning him a place in South Africa’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The defender has since been working hard to regain full fitness and says he is now ready to contribute again.

Cross returns for Kaizer Chiefs

“Look, I’m slowly progressing with my fitness. I got an injury in the pre-season and I’ve been working every single day to try to get better, but now I feel 100 percent,” Cross told the media on Monday.

His availability comes as a boost for Chiefs ahead of Tuesday’s Betway Premiership clash against Stellenbosch FC.

However, Amakhosi will still be without several key players for the encounter. Lebohang Maboe, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Adolf Mtasingwa and winger Langelihle Phili are unavailable, while goalkeeper Brandon Petersen is also sidelined.

Despite the injury concerns, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz insists his team is well prepared for the match.

“We are very well prepared for tomorrow,” Da Cruz said.

“I am not happy the players are injured, but it is important that we focus on the players available.”

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to secure maximum points against Stellenbosch as they look to strengthen their position in the league and keep their ambitions alive this season.
