The Inbetweeners stars reunite for "unconventional" Channel 4 series ahead of new Netflix sequel

The Inbetweeners 3 is currently filming after more than a decade since the last film, and while we're waiting for that, Channel 4 has announced a brand-new show featuring two of the lads.
The four-part Joe and James: Boys to Men (working title) will follow Simon and Jay actors Joe Thomas and James Buckley as they embark on a mission to find out exactly how to adult.
With Joe now in his 40s and James soon to hit that milestone, the two aim to figure out what that means and what is and isn't acceptable to do at that age.

And, of course, the best way to do that is via a celebrity road trip TV show.
The announcement teases that the two have "different approaches to life, Joe with a more introspective and esoteric view versus James who takes a more straight-talking, no-nonsense approach" and have a load of "funny and unconventional adventures".
"Whether you rewatch an ep of The Inbetweeners or catch them on their hilarious podcast, the chemistry between Joe and James is undeniable," Channel 4 commissioning editor Vivienne Molokwu said.
"Their genuine friendship and different perspectives on life make them both engaging and entertaining so I can't wait to see them explore the very modern question of what to do when you're too old to be young but too young to be old."

Will Macdonald of Idle Industries added: "As someone who could quite frankly watch Joe and James decide which takeaway to order, the thought of seeing them set off in a small car to get answers to big existential questions, and crack the meaning of midulthood is nothing short of thrilling. And hilarious."
Meanwhile, set photos from the third Inbetweeners movie revealed that the film will feature a wedding and some returning fan-favourite characters from the show, although we're still waiting to find out if one particular star is reprising their role.
