Tubi is a free streaming service that just keeps on going, and its movie library opens up many exciting possibilities for viewers in the United States. As is the case for every streaming service, several new movies and TV shows are coming to Tubi in October. Looking at the films that are already available on the streaming service, I found some interesting weekend options.
For our first Tubi movie recommendations for the weekend, I felt it was fitting that one horror-related release made its way into the list, given that we are in Halloween season after all. That said, this one is not heavy on horror, leaning more into the sci-fi realm. It also comes with a major Marvel Cinematic Universe star in the form of Thor actor Chris Hemsworth.
In parallel to that, I thought it would be perfect to add one of the MCU's biggest movies to the list. Among the new arrivals on Tubi in October are multiple superhero releases. One of those is trending on the free streaming service, and it connects with one of the most popular success stories at the box office in 2026.

Joining Hemsworth's sci-fi movie and that MCU release is an Andrew Garfield drama. It just happens to be one of the best movies of all time, packed with talent in all areas — director, cast, writer, cinematography, and more — and is extremely timely. These are the best movies to watch for free on Tubi this weekend:
Starting the list is the drama The Social Network. The movie comes with a star-studded cast. Led by Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, The Social Network also features actors like Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, Dakota Johnson, Rooney Mara, Rashida Jones, and more. The Social Network tells the story behind the creation of Facebook, directed by David Fincher from a script by Aaron Sorkin.
The Social Network holds a near-perfect 96% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 335 reviews. The biographical drama also boasts a stellar 87% audience score. It has become timely again to watch on Tubi due to how its sequel, The Social Reckoning, was recently released in theaters on October 9. As such, viewers can start the Facebook saga on Tubi this weekend and then go to theaters to check out The Social Reckoning, which Sorkin both writes and directs.
2 Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
Next up is the only superhero movie on the list. With Garfield, a Spider-Man actor, in The Social Network, the second entry on our Tubi list is all about Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker. At the time of writing, Spider-Man: Far From Home is the 8th most-watched movie on Tubi in the United States, and there is a good reason for that.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is a crucial MCU movie, marking the moment that Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio turned Peter Parker's world upside down. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day becoming the 3rd highest-grossing movie of all time this year, with over $2.5 billion thus far, the time to catch up on the MCU Spider-Man franchise if you have not already is now. And for free on Tubi, fans can also rewatch Holland's Spider-Man adventure before Brand New Day hits streaming.
1 Ghostbusters (2016)
Finally, yet another MCU actor stars in the last movie on our Tubi weekend recommendations, with Chris Hemsworth among the female-dominated cast of 2016's Ghostbusters. The movie features many actresses with great comedic timing, with the main group being made up of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.
Ghostbusters is an underrated entry in the classic sci-fi franchise. While it does not hit the highs of other entries in the franchise, it works well as a vibrant comedy, allowing Hemsworth to flex that different set of muscles, and the actor is simply delightful in the role of the quirky receptionist Kevin Beckman. Ghostbusters also features original franchise actors in surprising cameos, and it promises to end the weekend on Tubi with plenty of laughs.
