The Odyssey finally confirms digital release date after record-breaking cinema run

Having grossed over $1.7 billion at the worldwide box office, it seems likely that you watched The Odyssey on the big screen. But if you were one of the few who hasn't yet seen Christopher Nolan's historical epic, you don't have too long to wait for its home release.
After being released theatrically in July, Universal Pictures has confirmed that the film will be available to watch at home from 18 November. This includes digital renting and purchases, as well as its physical release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4k Ultra HD.
If you want to pre-order the film on either Prime Video or Apple TV, then it costs £13.99 for Standard, High and Ultra-High Definition. If you want the physical release, then the price starts from £10.99 for the DVD.

The Blu-ray costs £15.99, while the 4k Ultra HD is £37.99. This does come with a Blu-ray disc included, while there are two Limited Edition steelbooks that are exclusive to the 4k Ultra HD edition.
The digital home release also includes over 90 minutes of bonus footage personally overseen by Nolan, ranging from exclusive behind-the-scenes footage to intimate interviews with the cast and crew.
For the uninitiated, the historical epic is an adaptation of Homer's epic poem from Ancient Greece, with the story following Odysseus (Matt Damon) as he ventures home following the Trojan War.
Waiting in Ithaca is his devoted wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland), though they face pressure from a court of dangerous suitors led by the scheming Antinous (Robert Pattinson).
Written and directed by Nolan, the stacked supporting cast also includes Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o, John Leguizamo, Zendaya, Samantha Morton, Elliot Page, Jon Bernthal, Himesh Patel and Benny Safdie.
In addition to its record-breaking theatrical run, where it became the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, The Odyssey also garnered wide critical acclaim, and is considered a frontrunner during awards season.

In Digital Spy's five-star review, we called it an "incredible experience" that would leave viewers "stunned", noting: "The heart of the movie, and its main driving force, is the trio of Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland."
"You're treated to a staggering cinematic experience where each set piece brings something new to the feast. The siege of Troy is turned into a gripping, soul-shaking mini war epic," we added.
The Odyssey is released digitally and on home video on 18 November.
