Carmella got a Botox lip flip and now wishes she hadn't. The 38-year-old former SmackDown Women's Champion said on her Hot Mom Sht* podcast that she can barely move her upper lip since the treatment. It was meant to be a small cosmetic change, but she has to wait around four months for the effects to wear off, and she's warning others off the same procedure after seeing how uncomfortable it's been. Carmella said she went for the lip flip because her 39th birthday was getting close and she wanted a small change to her look.
Carmella Explains Why Her Botox Lip Flip Has Left Her Unable to Move Her Upper Lip Properly
The treatment is Botox injected into the upper lip to give it a slight lift. But she felt more Botox went in than she normally expected, and the result was different than what she had in mind.
On the podcast she described how hard it's become to control that lip.
"And I got a little lip flip, which is like they put Botox in the top here to just kind of lift it up a little bit. I'm like, 'I'm almost 39. Blah, blah, blah. Like, maybe I'll just do a little something.'"
She says she can't bring her upper lip down properly anymore. Talking feels uncomfortable too, and she's worried viewers might notice when she shows up on YouTube. Also, there's a catch compared to lip fillers. Fillers can be dissolved, but Botox can't just be reversed once it's in, so she has to let it wear off on its own.
"Now I have to wait four months to be able to move my lip again, and I'm so f****** annoyed. Why did I do that?"
She was blunt about advising people against it, too, saying, "Don't get a lip flip, guys. Don't do it."
Carmella Remains Unsure About Returning to WWE as She Focuses on Her Young Children
A full-time WWE return doesn't seem like something Carmella is ready to commit to right now. Talking with Laura Clery on IDIOT, the former champion admitted she doesn't know what her next career step will be. Her biggest worry is spending long stretches away from her children, since WWE's travel schedule is so demanding.
"I would regret being on the road and traveling while they are this young," Carmella explained.
She did leave the door open for a comeback, though. The former SmackDown Women's Champion said she wasn't ruling out another WWE run, but couldn't imagine being away from her children for that long at their current age.
Carmella last wrestled in March 2023 before stepping away to have her first child. WWE later let her contract expire in February 2025, ending her 12-year run with company. She also dealt with drop foot following that first pregnancy, and i kept her out of the ring well before the contract expired.
