PN activities suspended, not deregistered - RoS

KUALA LUMPUR: All activities of Perikatan Nasional (PN) have been suspended effective yesterday, the Registrar of Societies (RoS) said.

In a statement today, RoS said the suspension order was issued under subsection 13(2A) of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 832).

"The suspension order is intended to protect the interests of the organisation from continuing to violate its constitution.

"RoS urges all parties to refer to official information issued by the department and avoid speculation or the dissemination of unverified information that could cause confusion among the public," it said.

However, RoS clarified that the order did not mean PN's registration had been cancelled.
