Josh Brolin Has a List of 74 Movies You Need to See. He’s Only In One of Them

Translate

While making the press circuit rounds to promote his supporting role in the upcoming movie Whalefall, Josh Brolin took some time on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss his love of cinema — specifically his list of 74 movies that he thinks everyone should see.

Brolin doesn’t read out the whole list on the show, but the Kimmel Live social media team has shared the complete two-page document, which heavily features 1970s-era movies, “the best movies” in Brolin’s opinion. It’s a solid list of cinema classics (though unless I missed one, a complete lack of female directors, something Brolin might take a moment to consider), with a few 21st-century pictures in the mix, including Children of Men, 21 Grams, and The Worst Person in the World.

The only movie on the list in which Brolin appears, he admits to Kimmel, is David O. Russell’s 1996 comedy Flirting with Disaster (available on DVD via Amazon). Why does that one make the cut? In Brolin’s words: “Flirting with Disaster is the only movie that I chose of mine because I was a bisexual ATF agent with an armpit fetish.” Okay!

You can see the full interview below, as well as Brolin’s complete list via Instagram.
