Alia Bhatt REACTS to post claiming Tiger Shroff’s shooters were also targeting Ranbir Kapoor; amid trolling over ‘Ramayana’ speech

Alia Bhatt has seemingly reacted to the buzz around reports that the shooters who opened fire at Tiger Shroff over the weekend, were also targeting her husband, Ranbir Kapoor. The actress appears to have liked a fan post defending Ranbir against criticism and claiming that he had attended the event despite an alleged threat and safety concerns.

The post surfaced amid reports on AajTak, that the shooters arrested in connection with the firing incident involving Tiger's car in Juhu, Mumbai, had initially planned to target another Bollywood celebrity.

The report further claimed that the men had conducted a recce of Kapoor's Bandra residence.

Fans defend Ranbir Kapoor as actor issues apology

The fan post defended Ranbir for attending the Kolkata event and criticised those who mocked him for the minor fumble in his speech. It read, “He knew about the assassination attempt before that Kolkata event. If it were anything else, the event would've been cancelled. but he's RANBIR KAPOOR. Despite everything he still showed up he still stood on an open stage in front of thousands of people and even tried to say a few words and what if he stumbled over his words? That's the most human reaction under these circumstances!!! But What did you do? Took that small clip, dragged him and trolled him to the point where he had to apologise?? and apology?? For What??? Not being able to deliver a speech while dealing with something this terrifying??”

Although Alia did not publicly comment on the alleged threat or the post, fans noted that she liked the post.

Screenshots of the same have since been shared on fan handles.

Ranbir Kapoor apologises for Dussehra speech

Ranbir faced social media trolling after a video of his speech at a Dussehra celebration went viral. While explaining the festival’s message of the triumph of good over evil, the actor said, “Dussehra hame ek bahut khubsurat baat yaad dilati hai, ki burai chahe kitni bhi taqatwar kyun naa ho, aakhir mein ant sacchai aur achchai ki hi hogi.”His use of the word ‘ant’, meaning ‘end’, instead of ‘jeet’, meaning ‘victory’, prompted a wave of trolling on social media.

The actor subsequently addressed the trolling at the grand musical event and full-album launch of ‘Ramayana’ in Chennai on October 21, apologising for his choice of words and clarifying what he had intended to say. “I want to apologise about an incident that happened yesterday while I was at a Dussehra event. I had a slip of the tongue. What I was meant to say is 'burai chahe kitni bhi taqatwar kyun naa ho, aakhir mein jeet sacchai aur achchai ki hogi,'” he said.
