Angela (Ali Larter) will continue to be a big part of Landman season 3, but Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) will run into trouble as he spends more time with his new 'work wife.' Tommy's previous 'work wife' in Landman season 2 was Cami Miller (Demi Moore), who fired him as M-TEX Oil's President, leading Norris to create his own firm, CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle.

When Tommy formed his new oil company, he named Rebecca Falcone (Kayla Wallace) Chief Operating Officer and Chief Counsel. It's a huge show of trust and faith in Rebecca by Tommy after their up-and-down work relationship. Their low point came at the end of Landman season 1, when Tommy wanted Rebecca fired for framing Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland) as responsible for the accident that killed his M-TEX work crew when the series began.

Meanwhile, Angela has never been involved in Tommy's work, and neither of them wants that to change. Instead, Angela's top priority has been their daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), who now attends Texas Christian University. Angela relocated to Fort Worth to be there whenever Ainsley calls. Tommy regularly makes the 600-mile round trip drive between Fort Worth and Midland, so he'll see his wife and daughter. But Tommy will have his hands full running his startup in Landman season 3.

Rebecca Becomes Tommy’s “Work Wife” In Landman Season 3

Rebecca Falcone becomes Tommy Norris' new 'work wife' in Landman season 3, as she is the most prominent and powerful executive at CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, by Tommy's own choice. Rebecca has huge responsibilities as Chief Legal Counsel, and as COO, an endless amount of learning about the intricacies of the oil industry awaits Falcone, since oil is not her field. For that, she must rely heavily on Tommy and her boyfriend, Charlie Newsom (Guy Burnet).

It's hard to imagine that Angela will be totally fine with Tommy and Rebecca working closely. Angela went into full jealousy mode when she met Rebecca in Landman season 1. Though Rebecca was invited to Landman season 2's "Pirate Dinner," she hasn't grown particularly chummy with Angela or Ainsley. Rather, corporate go-getter Ms. Falcone doesn't hold Tommy's wife and daughter in esteem.

Tommy and Rebecca aren't guaranteed a smooth working relationship either. Tommy respects Rebecca, but he is, admittedly, an "a**hole," and she would agree. Rebecca herself is stubborn and tightly-wound. Plus, Rebecca has had past issues with Cooper, CTT Oil Exploration's President, Nate (Colm Feore), the treasurer, and even Ariana (Paulina Chavez), their new secretary. Conflicts are bound to flare up again throughout Tommy's new company.

Taylor Sheridan, who has written every episode of Landman, designed these characters to be like oil and water. Peace and smooth relationships are a lull before the predictable eruptions, like an oil pipe exploding in the Patch. Tommy will get along with Rebecca, and fight with Rebecca, who is not his wife outside of work. Meanwhile, Angela, who is technically also not Tommy's wife, is bound to go crazy on both as well.

Will Angela & Tommy Finally Get Married Again In Landman Season 3?

Landman's core romance is Tommy and Angela, whose rekindled relationship completely upended the Midland rental home Tommy shared with Nate and Dale (James Jordan). Despite their personality quirks, and Tommy constantly professing that they can't last long-term, Angela and Tommy are undeniably attracted to each other and mutually devoted.

For two seasons, Landman has been building toward Tommy and Angela re-marrying.

For two seasons, Landman has been building toward Tommy and Angela remarrying. Angela left her second husband in Landman season 1 and relocated to Midland. However, Tommy has used the unending crises he has faced, from running M-TEX as President to dealing with Danny "Gallino" Morrell (Andy Garcia), to avoid tying the knot with Angela again, though a part of him does want to.

In Landman season 3, Tommy has the biggest reason yet to dodge walking down the aisle with his ex-wife: Running CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle as Vice President, and the million details and problems that go along with launching a new oil company. This includes facing off with Landman season 3's newest opposition for Tommy: oil magnate William Crockett (Michael Kelly).

Taylor Sheridan creating Landman season 3's new paradigm creates a million questions about how Tommy working side-by-side running an oil startup with Rebecca will work, and how Angela will react to everything. It already sounds like throwing a lighter onto an oil slick.
