Celebrity Come Dine With Me is bringing one of Mzansi’s most recognisable digital stars into a very different spotlight.

Lasizwe Dambuza is best known for making his guests squirm on camera.

This time, he is the one under pressure, and he admits the kitchen did not always go to plan.

The YouTuber and Awkward Dates host is one of 24 celebrities in the first-ever celebrity edition of Come Dine With Me South Africa.

The new season premieres on BBC Lifestyle (DStv Channel 174) on 18 November 2026.

Lasizwe has admitted that losing control and nearly burning the meat were part of the challenge.

On top of that, he wanted his dinner party to reflect South African culture, saying local food “has so much personality”.

With three celebrity guests at every dinner party, it should make for an interesting evening.

How Celebrity Come Dine With Me works

The six-week series marks the show’s 11th South African season, and the first dedicated entirely to famous faces.

Contestants compete for culinary bragging rights and R10,000 for a charity of the winner’s choice.

Narrator Dave Lambreturns with his trademark commentary.

Pierre Cloete, vice president for Africa at BBC Studios, said the season “promises to be our biggest yet”.

Who else is cooking?

A line-up of familiar names joins Lasizwe, including:

  • singer Moonchild Sanelly
  • actress Linda Mtoba
  • sports broadcaster Carol Tshabalala
  • singer Nianell
  • actress Tarina Patel
  • musical theatre star Jonathan Roxmouth
  • illustrator Karabo Poppy
  • Good Things Guy founder Brent Lindeque.
