KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 — Haze conditions continued to affect parts of Sarawak this morning, with seven air quality monitoring stations recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9am.

According to data from the Department of Environment (DoE), the highest API reading was recorded at the Serian district police headquarters station in Sarawak at 170, followed by Sarikei, Samarahan and Kuching, which each registered 157.

Sibu recorded an API reading of 156, while Mukah and Sri Aman posted readings of 116 and 115 respectively.

No areas in the country recorded very unhealthy or hazardous API levels.

Elsewhere, air quality remained in the moderate range at 32 monitoring stations nationwide, including Samalaju (91), Bintulu (89), Miri (84) and Paka, Terengganu (83).

A total of 29 stations reported good air quality. Among the locations with the lowest API readings were Balik Pulau, Penang (14), and Alor Setar and Langkawi in Kedah (19 each).

Under the API classification, readings between 101 and 200 are considered unhealthy, while readings of 51 to 100 are categorised as moderate and 0 to 50 as good.
