Ghanaian singer Efya Nokturnal and Nigerian musician Tomi Thomas have formalised their union in a colourful traditional marriage ceremony in Accra, bringing together music, fashion and cultural traditions from both countries.

The ceremony, held on Friday, November 6, 2026, attracted a host of personalities from the entertainment industry, politics and traditional leadership, as the couple celebrated their marriage ahead of their scheduled white wedding.

Efya, known for her powerful vocals and hit songs, made a striking appearance in a specially designed Kente gown that paid homage to her Ghanaian heritage.

Her husband also embraced the occasion’s cultural theme, choosing a richly woven Ghanaian Kente cloth complemented by gold accessories. His arrival, accompanied by an entourage and traditional musicians, added to the excitement surrounding the celebration.

The ceremony offered a blend of Ghanaian and Nigerian influences, with the couple’s backgrounds reflected in the attire, music and festivities.

Among the prominent guests were Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Abla Gomashie, and the Paramount Chief of Akuapem, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.

The entertainment fraternity was also strongly represented, with Efia Odo, Sister Derby, Salma Mumin, Fantana and Becca among the celebrities who attended.

Music formed a major part of the celebration, as guests danced to a mix of highlife classics and contemporary Afrobeats.

The traditional marriage marks a significant milestone in the couple’s relationship, with preparations now turning to their white wedding, scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Accra.
