KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — The success in staging the Petronas Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) 2026 has not only strengthened the country’s reputation as a host of world-class motorsports events, but also serves as a catalyst for local economic activity, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“The Petronas Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) 2026 once again proves the country’s ability to organise world-class sporting events that not only attract motorsports fans but also bring benefits to the people and the local economy,” he said in a Facebook post today.

He said the determination and support of all parties were among the key factors that contributed to the successful staging of this year’s edition.

“Congratulations to all parties involved in making it a success. May this momentum continue to elevate Malaysia’s name on the world motorsports stage,” he added.

The three-day Malaysian MotoGP, held at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from Oct 30-Nov 1, attracted about 196,000 visitors. — Bernama
