The wait for Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three is almost over, with the conclusion to the trilogy hitting the big screen this December. And if you're wondering if the movie will be worth the hype, then we've got some good news.

Based on the novels by Frank Herbert, Dune 3 takes place nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now an Emperor, Paul is forced to face the consequences of his ruthless reign amid terrifying threats and unrelenting betrayal.

As a rebellion inches closer, Paul must confront the true cost of power, and what he is willing to lose. He is drawn into a mysterious new conspiracy, with his long-lost love Chani at the centre of it all.

One of Paul's biggest threats is Scytale, a Tleilaxu Face Dancer who devises a plan to dethrone the Emperor. The character is played by Robert Pattinson, who is making his Dune debut in the upcoming instalment.

Speaking about the role, Pattinson confirmed that he has already seen the movie, and described as it "unbelievable".

"What Denis has done with that trilogy, I think is just extraordinary. When they see this last - the conclusion of it, people are gonna be watching that trilogy for years and years and years," he told BAFTA. "It's unbelievable. Can't believe I got a part in it."

The star explained how he "kept calling" his agents to find him a role in the project "somehow". When he heard Scytale was potentially open for casting, he said he was "immediately" interested.

"Just randomly, Denis called me, totally out of the blue and said, 'Oh do you wanna go on a call?' I somehow found out that there were rumours of two new characters and I hadn't read Dune Messiah at that point and I just saw the character brief. I just googled who Scytale was.

"I'm like, 'Oh, if that's the part that he's asking me if I was interested in, then I'm like, 'I'm in. Immediately.' Like, I don't care. Like, that's literally my ideal part."

Pattinson added that the experience was "beyond anything [he] could have hoped for" and praised the "spectacular" artistry on set.

"I think people are gonna really, really love it," he concluded.

Dune: Part Three will be released in cinemas on 18 December.
