New Legend Of Zelda Collection Officially Announced For November 2026

It's no secret that The Legend of Zelda is having a pretty monumental year, with the 40th anniversary of the franchise prompting all sorts of releases to mark the occasion. Frankly, that's totally fair enough, as very few franchises get anywhere close to that figure, and we should take a moment to appreciate the very few that do reach the milestone.

The big release coming at this time is undoubtedly the Ocarina of Time Remake, which finally drops today (November 4), taking players back to one of the best games in the series to date, with new visuals and features to explore. That said, it seems other companies still have plenty of plans for Zelda moving forward, and one release in particular would be a very sweet addition to any collection.

  • Zelda Keychain 1

As first reported by Siliconera, Taito has announced two types of Legend of Zelda keychain designs, based on the Master Sword and heart container life indicators. The Master Sword keychain gives players a fun chance to withdraw the sword from its stone (which in this case is squishy, stuffed fabric featuring the Legend of Zelda logo).

The heart life indicator keychain design is probably the less iconic of the two, but it comes with a very fun little minigame that you won't find anywhere else. Each keychain has three hearts featured on it, and any time it hits anything in your bag or while unlocking your door, you will lose one, replicating what happens when you take damage.

The Master Sword keychain also comes with base options in three colors, all of which are attached to the Master Sword via a piece of string so you don't lose it if you pull it out.

The only unfortunate caveat to getting in on the action for yourself is that it doesn't look like it will be made available to purchase online at this juncture. Instead, it will be exclusively on sale at Lawson stores in Japan, so you'll have to head to one of those to get one if you live in the country, or if you're going to be over there for a vacation soon.

Outside of that, we obviously still have a lot to be excited for as fans of the franchise, and it turns out that the release of Ocarina of Time might be less of a side quest than it first appeared. Though the game is obviously still beholden to the events of the original, Nintendo has said that it could have quite a legacy from here.

That comes after thoughts turned to what the next Legend of Zelda game is going to be like, with many expecting a departure from the formula we previously saw in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo has now said that the development of Ocarina of Time will absolutely inform the next game in the series, particularly given the young development team. They didn't go as far as specifying exactly what that meant, but it will be interesting to see how much Ocarina informs what's coming.
