Rajpal Yadav opts for public queue at Lalbaugcha Raja for darshan, joins devotees during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations

Rajpal Yadav was recently spotted at Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja pandal during Ganesh Chaturthi. The actor opted to join the general public queue for darshan instead of using a separate or special entry.

His decision to stand alongside fellow devotees caught attention as he waited for his turn to seek blessings.

Rajpal Yadav joins devotees for darshan

The actor was seen making his way through the crowded pandal as devotees gathered for Lalbaugcha Raja darshan. Yadav chose the public line and was seen waiting with other visitors before getting an opportunity to offer his prayers.His appearance at the iconic Ganpati pandal comes amid the ongoing festive celebrations in Mumbai, with several Bollywood celebrities visiting Lalbaugcha Raja to seek blessings.

Rajpal Yadav’s legal case

Yadav’s public appearance comes at a time when he has also been facing legal proceedings in connection with seven cheque bounce cases. In July, the actor was sentenced to three months of imprisonment in each case, with the sentences directed to run concurrently.The Delhi High Court had also ordered him to pay Rs 1.05 crore in each of the seven cases to the respective complainant. Of this, Rs 1,04,75,000 was to be paid as compensation, while Rs 25,000 was to go to the State.

Supreme Court grants interim relief

Following the Delhi High Court order, Yadav approached the Supreme Court seeking relief from surrendering. After the hearing on September 8, the Supreme Court granted him interim exemption from surrendering, subject to him depositing Rs 5 crore with the court’s Registry.A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana passed the order after petitions filed by Yadav and his wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, were orally mentioned by their advocate-on-record Saurabh Trivedi.

The court issued notice and listed the matter for September 15, 2026.The Bench ordered, “Subject to deposit of Rs.5 crores by the petitioners with the Registry of this Court by tomorrow, they are granted exemption from surrendering.”

Details of the cheque bounce proceedings

The cases involve M/s Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd. and allegations surrounding the dishonour of cheques issued in connection with payments linked to the actor’s production company.Radha Yadav was separately directed to pay Rs 5,51,380 to the complainant in each of the seven cases.

The High Court had also noted that Rs 2.25 crore had already been paid and released to the complainant during the proceedings. This amount was to be considered while determining the remaining fine and compensation.While upholding Yadav’s conviction, the Delhi High Court had given him two months to approach the Supreme Court and suspended his sentence during that period. The latest Supreme Court order provides interim relief from surrendering, subject to the Rs 5 crore deposit.Meanwhile, Yadav’s visit to Lalbaugcha Raja saw him choosing the public queue as he joined other devotees for darshan during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Shahrukh Khan and his family, Madhoo, Ananya Panday are few others who visited the famous pandal recently.
