Dream rule out top scorer Gray (finger) for Game 2 vs. Liberty

Translate

Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray was ruled out of Wednesday's Game 2 of their semifinal series against the New York Liberty due to a finger injury and is considered day-to-day.

Gray exited Sunday's 92-82 win in Game 1 early with a left hand injury. She initially injured her left shooting hand at the end of the first quarter, leaving for the locker room before returning early in the second period with her pinkie and ring finger taped, which she ditched not long after checking back in.

But with less than four minutes left in the half, Gray appeared to reinjure her hand, departing once more for the locker room and shortly after being ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Gray, who scored seven points in 11 minutes, returned to the Dream bench during the third quarter with a splint on her finger.

The 6-foot-0 guard and four-time All-Star out of South Carolina was the Dream's top scorer this season, averaging 19.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game. She was also their top scorer (22.0 PPG) during a first-round sweep of the No. 5 seed Washington Mystics as Atlanta secured its first semifinals berth since 2018.
