Everybody Lies, the bingeable eight-part crime drama featuring a "maverick ex-cop", is now streaming in the UK. First released in 2022, the Franco-Belgian show was recently added to Channel 4 via its Walter Presents on-demand service.

Originally titled Tout le monde ment, the show stars Vincent Elbaz as an ex-cop named Vincent Verne.

While working in a bookshop, the disgraced ex-cop is recruited by prosecutor Alice Mojodi (Mariama Gueye) to join Paris’s Sensitive Cases unit, a group set up to investigate those wealthy enough to cover up their crimes.

The description reads: "Ex-cop Vincent – who was fired for pursuing a powerful man – joins a new Sensitive Cases unit. Will his high-risk attitude rub off on his new colleagues?"

Comprising eight feature-length episodes, the miniseries was created by former police captain and writer Olivier Norek. Hélène Angel and Akim Isker serve as directors.

Rounding out the cast are Joséphine de Meaux as Malory Servaz, Thomas Silberstein as Julien de Grève, Jackie Berroyer as Maximilien and Léa Issert as Samantha 'Sam' Mayeras.

They are joined by Anne Girouard as Isabelle Villa, Dylan Hawkes as Tom Villa, Félicien Juttner as Jérôme Saussay, and Pierre Desmaret as M de Grève.

In their first case, the Sensitive Cases unit is tasked with investigating the mysterious murder of an escort while attempting to gather enough evidence to bring down a powerful suspect.

In other crime drama news, Ludwig, the David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin-fronted series, is set to premiere its new season on 20 August.

Ahead of its release, Martin teased fans with what to expect, saying: "This series is bigger and better, brighter and bolder. It builds on the success of the first and it's got even better. We all really enjoy being here and creating the show.

"Mark Brotherhood, our writer, is so responsive. He doesn't block you; he really wants to show everyone off and that's really exciting."
