WWE reportedly has a big celebration lined up for The Rock, with the 30th anniversary of his debut coming up. WrestleVotes Radio said on Fightful Select that the company plans to honour the Hollywood star this month, and special merchandise, social media campaigns and a commemorative championship title are expected to be part of it. This comes after months of uncertainty around his WWE involvement and his unfinished storyline with Cody Rhodes and John Cena. But his own reaction to the tribute hasn't been revealed yet.

WWE Reportedly Plans Special Merchandise and a Commemorative Championship for The Rock's 30th Anniversary

The Rock first showed up in WWE at Survivor Series in 1996, which is one of the company's long-running annual events. Thirty years later, WWE is getting ready to mark that milestone with a bunch of tributes.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the company wants to release merchandise dedicated to the Brahma Bull. A commemorative championship belt is also in the works, and it's expected to get rolled out soon.

This is different than a new active championship for the WWE roster. The title is reportedly meant to celebrate The Rock's 30-year association with the promotion, and social media campaigns about his career are said to be part of the plans too.

Still, a lot is missing. The exact design of the belt, its release date and the full merchandise collection haven't been disclosed, and the reported plans center on celebrating his debut anniversary.

The Rock's WWE Absence and Unfinished Cody Rhodes Storyline Still Raise Questions About His Return

These tribute plans land while The Rock is still away from WWE television, with his Hollywood commitments keeping him busy.

His last major storyline was with Cody Rhodes and John Cena. The Rock came back and asked Rhodes to sell him his soul, and he also pushed for Cena to turn heel. But the angle didn't go the way people expected, and he never returned to finish it. There were reports too that he wanted Rhodes to turn heel, which didn't happen in the end. The WWE Universe had largely turned against The Rock after the storyline, and rumours about tension around his involvement kept going.

The Rock has also denied a return, according to available account.

Whether he'll personally take part in WWE's anniversary celebration is still unknown, and nothing has been reported about how he feels on the planned merchandise and commemorative championship either.
