Karoline Leavitt snaps back at troll after sharing photo of her midterms ballot

Former press secretary Karoline Leavitt has snapped back at a troll after she posted a photo of her midterms ballot along with a smiling selfie after voting this morning.
The mom of two, 29, sported an 'I Voted' sticker on her sweater, as she told followers that she voted in her 'beautiful home state of New Hampshire' on Tuesday.
Leavitt also posted an image of her completed ballot, showing that she voted for three Republicans - Kelly Ayotte for Governor, John E Sununu for United States Senator, and Anthony DiLorenzo for Representatives in Congress.
But trolls on social media were quick to assume that Trump's former press secretary's ballot was a mail-in, rather than in-person vote.
'So mail in ballots are ok. Great message!!' an X user said, jumping to the false conclusion.
But Leavitt did not hold back in her response. She wrote: 'This isn't a mail in ballot. I took this picture of my ballot at the voting booth. Get lost!'
Leavitt, who welcomed her daughter Viviana into the world earlier this year, resides primarily in New Hampshire, but also has a home in Washington DC.
The former press secretary frequently expressed strong criticism against the mail-in ballot system during her tenure working for Trump.

An X user mistook the picture Leavitt took of her ballot for a mail-in ballot, and assumed this meant her previous views on mail-in ballots have changed
'There is blatant FRAUD with their mail-in voting system,' Leavitt said during a White House press briefing back in November 2025.
'Fraudulent ballots are being mailed in under the names of other people and illegal aliens! There are countless examples. And we are looking into executive action,' she said.
An hour after she tweeted her ballot, Leavitt shared a link to the Republican National Committee's election integrity website titled 'Protect the Vote,' which allows people to report potential voter fraud in their state.
'We need your help to stop voter suppression, irregularities, and fraud,' Leavitt wrote.
Leavitt and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, have properties in DC and Florida, but their primary residence is in New Hampshire, which is where she was born.

She previously announced her campaign to run for the House of Representatives in the state's first congressional district in 2021, which she ultimately lost to the Democratic incumbent Chris Pappas.
Leavitt sent shockwaves through the White House and beyond back in August when she announced she would be stepping down as Trump's press secretary - a role she took on when he won his second term in 2024.
Since then, she has become a mother of two, which she said contributed to the tough decision to step back from the high-powered job.
She has since announced that she will stay within the Republican realm, taking on a role as a contributor on Fox News.
Leavitt explained: 'I will officially be joining Fox News as a TV contributor... so I will continue making appearances on various shows!
'I have a couple of other projects I am working on. But mainly I am staying home and doing a whole lot of this,' the mom-of-two wrote, over a picture of her snuggling up to five-month-old daughter Viviana.
When she left the role, she was swiftly replaced by Katie Zacharia, who only lasted less than a week in the position.
'The job obviously was not for her, but we wish her and her family well,' Leavitt told Fox News Digital backstage at a Turning Point USA campus tour stop at California Polytechnic State University at the time.
She added that President Trump was continuing to consider his options for the position and that she had offered her expertise to help him find the right replacement.

Since no one has yet replaced Zacharia, Trump currently does not have a press secretary despite facing a potential incoming blue wave with the midterms.
Leavitt opened up about the preparation that went into her first press briefing.
'I prepared like heck for that first briefing,' Leavitt said.
'I poured myself into my preparation. I read, I studied, I talked to every Cabinet member, I talked to the president. I just absorbed as much information as this noggin up here could.'
Leavitt's post about voting this morning comes as millions of Americans rushed to the polls to vote in the midterms.
The first polls close at 6pm ET and the last polls wrap up at 1am ET. Then the nation will wait as ballots are counted across the country to find out whether Republicans or Democrats will take power.
