Motörhead to Receive Exhibition at Punk Rock Museum

Motörhead will be receiving an exhibition at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas opening on Friday, October 2nd.

Late frontman Lemmy Kilmister’s role in the explosion of heavy metal is well-recorded, but he also performed bass for The Damned and was a vocal fan and supporter of the punk scene for decades.

The exhibition will feature a number of handwritten lyrics from Lemmy, as well as photographs, but the most exciting element by far is the ability to play one of Lemmy’s actual Rickenbacker basses through one of his personal amp stacks. The intent is to allow museum-goers to tangibly connect to the history they are reading about in a direct and personal way.

Vinyl Threat, the museum’s record shop, will feature Motörhead albums as well as unique Motörhead merchandise in celebration of the legendary band. The Three Star Punk Bar will be hosting a special evening on the day of the opening featuring Metal Blade’s Brian Slagel DJing.

The Motörhead exhibit can be found at the Punk Rock Museum located at 1422 Western Avenue in Las Vegas beginning October 2nd.
