NOIDA: Five members of a family, including a couple and their three children aged between three and 11 years, were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their residence in Nagla Shri Padam village in Greater Noida’s Rabupura area on Saturday morning.Police suspect food poisoning as a possible cause, but the exact reason for the deaths is yet to be established. The deceased have been identified as Mahesh, 37, his wife Lalita, 35, and their children Laddu, 11, Mishti, seven, and Sakshat, three.According to police, information about the deaths was received at Rabupura police station on Saturday morning. Local police, senior officers, an ambulance and a team from the food safety department rushed to the spot.A forensic team and the police field unit inspected the scene and began collecting scientific evidence to establish the circumstances leading to the deaths.During the preliminary inquiry, neighbours and Mahesh’s mother reportedly told police that the family members had eaten noodles at night. All five were found dead the following morning. Frothing at the mouth was also reported, although officials have not yet confirmed its significance in determining the cause of death.

Police said preliminary findings pointed to possible food poisoning. However, officials cautioned that the cause of death could be determined only after the postmortem examinations and other scientific investigations.

The bodies are being sent for postmortem examinations after the completion of the necessary legal formalities. Further investigation is underway, and police said appropriate legal action would be taken based on the findings of the medical and forensic examinations.
