KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 — Malaysia’s campaign at the Hylo Open 2026 ended in the semi-finals after national men’s doubles pair Aaron Tai-Yap Roy King and professional mixed doubles duo Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing failed to reach the final in Saarbrucken, Germany, today.
Aaron-Roy King were left to rue a missed opportunity after surrendering their opening-game lead to Denmark’s Christian Faust Kjaer-Rasmus Kjaer, eventually falling 21-18, 15-21, 18-21 in 59 minutes at the Saarlandhalle.
Pang Ron-Pei Jing also came up short of a second consecutive final appearance, going down fighting to second seeds Thom Gicquel-Delphine Delrue of France 20-22, 21-16, 17-21 in a 70-minute battle.
The defeat ended their hopes of repeating last week’s run to the French Open 2026 final, where they finished runners-up after losing 10-21, 13-21 to world number one Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping of China. — Bernama
