We all have that one friend who claims they’ve never seen a single Star Wars movie, or just missed the boat on the whole Twilight thing. But Home Alone? Surely there are only a handful of people out there who have not snuggled on the couch on a chilly December afternoon to screen the 1990 holiday classic about poor eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) accidentally getting left behind by his family at Christmas.

Well, add Maren Morris to that list.

In a TikTok posted on Monday (Nov. 2), Morris, 36, who was born the year the movie came out, did a call-out to anyone up for starting a movie club featuring iconic films they’ve never seen. “It took me until I was, like, 28-years-old to finally watch Home Alone,” she said in the confessional-style video.

“And now I love it,” she added.

But that got her thinking about all the other classics she’s never made time for, including Vietnam drama Full Metal Jacket and the classic John Candy comedy Uncle Buck (another great holiday standard, also written and produced by director John Hughes), which she said her friends are also mad at her for not having seen.

Morris invited fans to join her in the project, encouraging them to list the movie classics they never got around to, or that their parents wouldn’t show them. The suggestions in the comments featured a bunch of great suggestions of iconic films her fans have never seen, including Goonies, A Christmas Story, Pretty Woman, The Godfather, Jurassic Park, It’s a Wonderful Life, Practical Magic and Casablanca.

Morris released her fourth studio album, Dreamsicle, in May 2025.
