Agitation at Bimbilla NDC elections as police arrest delegates over ballot photos

Police have arrested some delegates at the Bimbilla constituency election centre for allegedly photographing their ballot papers during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections.
The arrests triggered agitation at the polling centre as officers moved to prevent delegates from taking photographs of their votes.
The incident occurred as delegates voted to elect constituency executives for the governing party, raising concerns about maintaining order and calm during the exercise.
A total of 60 aspirants are contesting 17 executive positions in Bimbilla, with 1,764 delegates expected to cast their ballots.
The Bimbilla elections form part of the NDC’s nationwide constituency polls scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026, across the party’s 276 constituencies.
