It is a meeting room, holding pen, cocktail bar, talent corridor and, when the timing is right, one of the easiest places to see who has just arrived in Toronto. For 2026, the action stretches from the Ritz-Carlton and BISHA near TIFF Lightbox to Ace and 1 Hotel farther west, while Four Seasons keeps Yorkville firmly in the festival conversation. These are the lobbies worth knowing — whether you have a room key or not.

The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto

The Ritz-Carlton runs two shifts during TIFF. Mornings start with juice shots and a collagen bar before the lobby changes gears for Champagne, a bespoke cocktail bar, theatrical presentations and live music during opening weekend. EPOCH stays open until 2 a.m. on weekends, with DJs Thursday through Saturday. The hotel is also an official TIFF: The Market hotel partner, hosting private exhibitor suites. Come early to regroup between screenings; come back when the festival moves from premieres to nightcaps.

BISHA Hotel

During TIFF, BISHA becomes the House of BISHA, bringing filmmakers and talent through the hotel during the festival’s crucial opening stretch. That makes the lobby at 80 Blue Jays Way an unusually efficient place to catch the TIFF ecosystem in motion without staking out a red carpet. The location helps: TIFF Lightbox is barely a block away, while Mister C gives the lobby its own built-in cocktail scene.

Ace Hotel Toronto

Ace returns as an official TIFF hospitality partner for 2026, with private festival events including an invite-only filmmakers’ lounge. Downstairs remains resolutely public — and arguably more interesting. Shim-Sutcliffe’s triple-height lobby hangs beneath massive poured-concrete arches, with an oak-lined bar suspended above Patrick Kriss’ Alder; Evangeline handles rooftop duty. TIFF Lightbox is about a 10-minute walk away, close enough to stay connected but far enough to escape King Street between screenings. Come here when you want TIFF energy without feeling trapped inside TIFF.

The Hollywood Reporter Green Room takes over Flora Lounge Sept. 11-20, with film-inspired Don Julio cocktails and live piano on select nights. The setting trades red-carpet polish for reclaimed Toronto timber, greenery and the hotel’s nature-driven design vocabulary, while Casa Madera downstairs and Harriet’s on the roof keep the night moving without leaving the building. It is west of the Lightbox crush, but during festival week, Flora serves as the industry’s living room.

King West may have the red carpets, but Yorkville remains one of TIFF’s most reliable off-camera stages. Four Seasons returns as an official festival hospitality partner, with a TIFF photography exhibition running through the lobby, a Sept. 8 kickoff at d|bar and the invite-only Road to the Golden Globes on Sept. 12. The hotel is nowhere near TIFF Lightbox, which is precisely why the crowd here feels different: less premiere-line chaos, more industry meetings, talent arrivals and drinks that turn into dinner. During TIFF, Yorkville plays the long game.
