GB News show descends into farce as guest accuses host of ‘losing control’ live on air

A GB News show has been branded a “farce” after a heated and “unprofessional” clash between a presenter and guest live on air.

Nana Akua was accused of being a “poor host” by guest Andy Twelves as she covered Patrick Christys Tonight show on Tuesday, prompting the discussion to rapidly descend into a series of pointed and “unprofessional” jabs.

In a viral clip Ms Akua tells political commentator Mr Twelves “I’m hosting the show,” and he responds: “Are you? I don’t think the viewers would have got that from your performance today. You have poor hosting skills, you lost control of the panel”.

The pair then engage in a back and forth with Ms Akua asking him: “Have you quite finished? what else have you got to say, go on. Let’s hear it. Let’s get it all out now, so that when you’ve managed to purge yourself of what it is that you have against me…

“Whatever problem you have with me, then once we’ve done that, we can get on with the show. What else have you got to say?”

Mr Twelves insists “you lost control of the panel” before asking: “Why are we doing it on air, I don’t think this is appropriate to do on air.”

Ms Akua then retorts: “It’s because you’re being extremely disrespectful”.

Clips of the heated altercation have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times online as commenters hit out at the pair’s squabble, branding it as “pathetic” and “childish”.

“She’s right that Andy was being very childish, but she should have got a grip of it,” one wrote on X. “When he carried on being disrespectful, she should have just booted him off the show.”

Others criticised Mr Twelves for criticising Ms Akua on air, calling him “disrespectful”.

“This looks bad on him. He probably talks down to a lot of women. I’m glad she stood up for herself,” another wrote.

“Nobody came out of that well,” another added. “Producers should have nipped it in the bud even if it meant going to adverts while its resolved.”
