Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has urged Nigerians to promote national unity and support the Federal Government’s efforts to address the country’s economic and security challenges.

Fadahunsi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries, made the call in an Independence Day message issued by his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Omole Oluwasegun Omo-Osodi, on Thursday.

The lawmaker also urged Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying its policies had the potential to improve the country.

“Let us continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to actualise his policies and programmes. He has good intentions for Nigeria. We will get it right,” he said.

Fadahunsi called on Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious and regional differences and work together to address the nation’s challenges.

“On this Independence Day, let us commit ourselves to Nigeria’s unity and collective improvement. Regardless of ethnic, religious, or regional differences, we must see each other as brothers and sisters,” he said.

He said the effects of Tinubu’s economic reforms were becoming evident and also pointed to what he described as improvements in national security over the past three years.

The senator urged Nigerians to focus on economic growth, job creation, food security, education, healthcare and the protection of citizens.

He also called on residents of Osun East Senatorial District to participate in the electoral process.

Fadahunsi urged Nigerians to remember the sacrifices of the country’s founding fathers and uphold the ideals of unity, peace, justice and tolerance.

“Happy Independence Day to all Nigerians. As we mark 66 years, let us remember the sacrifices of our founding fathers and recommit to their ideals of unity, peace, justice, and tolerance,” he said.
