Kedah fire dept: 'Bomba' vehicle in viral video is not ours

Translate

ALOR STAR: The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department has confirmed that a private vehicle bearing the word "Bomba" and fitted with a beacon light does not belong to the department or any Volunteer Fire Brigade in the state.

In a statement today, the department said it was aware of a video circulating on social media showing the vehicle and was taking further action over the unauthorised use of its identity.

"We take a serious view of any unauthorised use of the department's identity, which could mislead the public and undermine the image and credibility of the fire service," it said.

The department also thanked members of the public who had provided information, adding that their cooperation was essential to ensuring the accuracy of information in circulation.

"We remain committed to upholding the integrity and professionalism of the department while maintaining public trust in the fire service," it added.

A five-second video recently went viral on social media, showing a private vehicle bearing the word "Bomba" and fitted with a warning light allegedly nearly colliding with several vehicles after running a red light in Sungai Petani.
