The Beatles, Drake, ‘Hamilton’ & More: Highlights of This Week’s Billboard Charts

Translate

Tuesday is new Billboard chart day each week! As all charts update each Tuesday, here’s a look at highlights of the latest rankings, dated Oct. 17 and reflecting the Oct. 2-8 measurement week, according to data tracker Luminate.

Among this week’s chart stars are The Beatles, Drake, the Hamilton original Broadway cast recording, Taylor Swift and Ella Langley.

The Beatles’ Rubber Soul returns to the Billboard 200 at No. 4 following its expansive reissue on Oct. 2. The album originally topped the chart for six weeks in 1966 and includes such classics as “In My Life,” “Michelle” and “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown).”

The Fab Four first appeared in the Billboard 200’s top 10 on the chart dated Feb. 22, 1964, when Introducing…The Beatles bounded 22-3. They, thus, now boast the longest span of ranking in the top 10 among groups: 62 years, seven months and three weeks. They pass The Rolling Stones, who extended their run to 61 years, seven months and two weeks when their latest album, Foreign Tongues, debuted at No. 7 in July.

Frank Sinatra has the longest span among all acts of placing in the Billboard 200’s top 10: 69 years and nine months.

  • Taylor Swift

“Patient Zero” adds a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s Swift’s 10th song to reign for double-digit weeks, making her only the fourth act with that many such leaders.

  • Ella Langley

After her “Choosin’ Texas” ran up a record 24 weeks atop the Hot 100, it continues at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, where it leads for a 44th week, the third-longest command in the chart’s history.

  • Drake

“Solar Eclipse,” with Don Toliver, debuts at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, marking Drake’s record-extending 33rd leader and Toliver’s first. On the Hot 100, the song — which interpolates “Choosin’ Texas” — starts at No. 5 as Drake’s record-extending 91st top 10 and Toliver’s second.

Plus, “Solar Eclipse” starts atop Hot R&B Songs and Drake’s “Quebec” opens atop Hot Rap Songs. They’re from the Oct. 2 reissue of Drake’s album HABIBTI (originally released in May). The set hits No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums for the first time, becoming his record-breaking 18th leader, one more than both Future and The Temptations.

  • ADÉLA

“Nicole Kidman” becomes her first Hot 100 top 10, rising to No. 9.

The hit has surged thanks in part to TikTok — with actress Kidman herself having posted her first-ever video on the platform soundtracked to the song. “It’s just wild watching [her] movies, being like, ‘This person, for some reason, is doing charity work and supporting me,’” ADÉLA joked to Billboard. “The fact that she embraces me is such an honor — I have trouble processing it still.”

  • Hamilton: An American Musical original Broadway cast recording

The set collects its record-extending and milestone 500th week at No. 1 on Cast Albums. It first led in its debut week in October 2015.

  • Ariana Grande

“Hate That I Made You Love Me” rises to No. 1 on Adult Pop Airplay, where it’s Grande’s first leader. It previously became her 11th No. 1 on Pop Airplay and her 10th chart-topper on the Hot 100.

  • John Morgan

“Kid Myself” gives the North Carolina native his first Country Airplay No. 1.

  • Tank

“Yes” marks his 12th Adult R&B Airplay No. 1, breaking him out of a tie with Charlie Wilson for the most among male artists. Overall, Alicia Keys leads with 14 No. 1s at the radio format.

  • Karol G with Judeline & rusowsky

“BbY WOW” ascends to No. 1 on Latin Airplay. Karol G earns her 22nd leader and Judeline and rusowsky, their first each.

The smash also rebounds for a fifth week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

  • Lenin Ramirez

“Polvo Rosita” becomes his third No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay.
