Over 370,000 Dreo Space Heaters Recalled After 17 Catch Fire

Translate

Keeping cozy this season comes with an important caveat. Dreo has recalled its DR-HSH015 space heater due to the risk of the unit catching fire.

The recall covers Dreo’s $100 model DR-HSH015, a 13-inch-tall, black ceramic electric heater that came bundled with a remote control. Regulators noted the issue is limited to units manufactured between April 2025 and January 2026, which consumers can verify by checking the date stamped on the bottom of the device.

DREO said it received 17 reports of space heaters igniting, three resulting in property damage and one in a burn injury to the hand.

The company sold over 370,000 units in the US and Canada. The space heater was available from outlets including Home Depot, Best Buy, Kohl’s and Costco, as late as October 2026.

Owners should stop using the recalled space heaters immediately, disconnect them from power, destroy them by cutting off the power cable and contact the company for a free replacement.

Space heaters are a popular way to heat cold rooms, and CNET’s own tests found that properly functioning units can help owners reduce their energy bills over winter.
