Beck suggests Joey Waronker is touring with Oasis again for ‘Live ’27’

Beck has suggested that Joey Waronker will be touring with Oasis again for their ‘Live ’27’ shows.

The drummer worked on the singer-songwriter’s new album ‘Ride Lonesome’ and they have previously toured together.

Waronker has also previously worked with R.E.M., Elliott Smith and Roger Waters, as well as being a member of Thom Yorke‘s Atoms For Peace band and experimental rock outfit Ultraísta with Nigel Godrich. He also previously played on the tour supporting Liam and John Squire’s collaborative album in 2024.

Despite working on Beck’s new record when asked by NME in a new interview whether Waronker would be performing on Beck’s own 2026/27 tour dates which kicks off at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver tonight (September 16), he suggested that he wouldn’t be.

“I don’t get Joey. He’s a busy man, but he played on the record and we always play together when we have a chance,” Beck said.

His comments suggest that he may instead be gearing up for Oasis ‘Live ’27’ instead.

Liam Gallagher previously described Waronker as “special” ahead of their previous tour and during their opening night at Cardiff Principality Stadium, Noel Gallagher hailed him and other band members from the stage.

“Thank you very much to Gem Archer on the guitar, Andy Bell on bass guitar, our 14th drummer Mr Joey Waronker, and this fucking uber legend here [Bonehead],” he said at the time.

Speculation that Waronker won’t be on the tour began to grow among fans after it was spotted that his name was left off the credits in the recent Oasis documentary Don’t Look Back In Anger. But NME understands that his omission was done in error.

The Britpop icons confirmed their tour earlier this week (Monday September 14), with plans for 38 shows kicking off next May.

Dates open with five nights at Glasgow’s Celtic Park, before an impressive 11 gigs at The Etihad in Manchester, followed by shows across Europe. In August, there are three shows in Boston and three in Las Vegas, and the tour then wraps up with two stops at Slane Castle in Ireland and four at Knebworth.

Oasis have already said that, following the chaotic struggle to get tickets for the first wave of Live ‘25 shows, they will be adopting the same on-sale model they did for their latter Wembley shows – inviting fans to register for the chance to buy tickets.

Fans must register before Thursday (September 17) at 4pm BST / 5pm CEST / 8am PT / 11am ET and can do so here, and those who are successful in the ballot will then be sent a code to access an allocated on-sale window at a specific time.

That on-sale time will take place across Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September in the UK. This registration process is the only way to buy tickets, and standard ticket prices will be fixed between £71.50 and £266.60, including fees.

Meanwhile, Beck’s new album ‘Ride Lonesome’ is out this Friday (September 18). In a four and a half star review, NME described it as “a drop-dead gorgeous meditation on heartache and solitude, with the title track – and lead single – setting the tone for a suite of songs that is more spectral and ethereal than its predecessors”.
