The special meeting with 25 Negeri Sembilan state assemblymen last night did not discuss Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir’s audience with menteri besar Ismail Lasim, says state Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias.

He said the discussion focused on efforts to ensure that elected representatives from the government bloc remain committed to carrying out their responsibilities in their constituencies, as well as strengthening the party.

He said Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged the assemblymen not to be affected by current developments and to continue prioritising their service to the people.

“We conveyed a narrative and a guideline for the 25 assemblymen to carry out their duties in their constituencies, strengthen the party and fulfil their responsibilities as elected representatives,” he told reporters after the meeting at Menara Dato Onn here.

He said the meeting was also attended by Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and BN secretary-general Zambry Abd Kadir.
