A total of 6,724 officers from various service schemes under the health ministry have been approved for acting appointments and promotions to the senior management service and Grades 10 to 15.

The approvals were granted by the public service promotion board on Oct 13, the ministry said today.

It said this reflected the ministry’s continued efforts to recognise the officers’ commitment, dedication, and achievements in ensuring smooth operations and effective healthcare service delivery.

In statement, the ministry said that in line with improvements to career progression under the public service remuneration system (SSPA), the board also approved excellence-based promotion criteria for officers under its teaching service scheme, allowing them to be promoted even without vacant posts.

The approval provides the officers concerned with better opportunities for career advancement.

The ministry also paid tribute to the four officers serving with the Flying Doctor Service who died in a helicopter crash while on duty on Sept 8.

All four were approved for posthumous promotions in recognition of their service and dedication.
