Al-Azhar condemns Riyadh Airport attack, targeting of civilians, Umrah pilgrims

Translate

Al-Azhar has strongly condemned the attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which left civilians and Umrah pilgrims dead and injured, stressing that attacks on civilian infrastructure and pilgrims visiting Islam’s two holiest mosques constitute a grave provocation to Muslims, a violation of humanitarian values and international norms, and a direct threat to Saudi Arabia’s security and territorial integrity.

In a statement, Al-Azhar reiterated its unequivocal rejection of repeated attacks that have claimed innocent civilian lives and undermined the Kingdom’s security and stability.

It warned of the consequences of continued aggression, emphasizing that safeguarding regional security requires an immediate halt to such attacks and full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states.

Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayyeb extended his heartfelt condolences to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; the Saudi people; and the families of the victims.

He prayed for the victims to be granted Allah’s mercy and forgiveness, wished the injured a speedy recovery, and asked Allah Almighty to protect the Kingdom of the Two Holy Mosques and all Muslim countries from harm and adversity, and to ensure the continued security, peace and stability of their peoples.
