Selena Gomez Says Vaping Nicotine Changed Her Voice

Translate

Selena Gomez says years of vaping nicotine changed her voice — and she’s hoping others can learn from her.

In a video posted to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, October 18th, the singer and actor said she had vaped “a lot” and recently stopped, though quitting nicotine has been difficult. “Nicotine is so hard to quit,” Gomez said, before warning anyone considering vaping that “it’s just not worth it.”

“It’s so stupid, and it’s changed my voice,” she continued. Gomez also addressed people who have commented on how she sounds recently, saying understandingly that anyone bothered by it is welcome to simply stop listening. She added that she’s happy to have quit and hopes she can stick with it.

Gomez had previously responded to questions about her changing voice during an Instagram Live last December, when she said her throat occasionally swells internally. At the time, she did not mention vaping as a factor. Gomez has also spoken publicly for years about living with lupus and underwent a kidney transplant in 2017.

Beyond music, Gomez currently stars in and executive produces Only Murders in the Building. The Hulu series returns December 8th for its sixth season, which relocates the action to London under the title Only Murders in London. New subscribers can get a 30-day Hulu trial by signing up here.

Selena Gomez opens up about how vaping nicotine changed her voice:
