Exclusive: Coronation Street star warns of huge Bethany and Kit bombshell

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt on the ITV soap, has warned of a major bombshell set to hit after Bethany and Kit Green's one-night stand.

Viewers know that Bethany recently slept with Kit, who was previously in a relationship with her mum, Sarah Platt, before Sarah was arrested and charged with Theo Silverton's murder.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy at the 2026 Inside Soap Awards, Fallon revealed that Kit and Bethany’s mistake will come back to haunt them.

"I think this is definitely going to come back to haunt her," said Fallon. "I don't think that she's going to get away with this for very long."

Speaking about the situation Bethany finds herself in, Fallon said "she's not the kind of person who's just going to sit in her guilt", and that she will "need to tell her mum what has happened", adding: "She's been a bit of a naughty girl."

Meanwhile, Fallon teased further trouble for Bethany and Kit, as Jodie remains the only person who knows what happened and could expose the truth.

"I think that's definitely a problem that Jodie knows because Jodie, if anyone, is going to be the one at the moment who is likely to give that information away," Fallon said.

"Kit still wants to be with Sarah, I think, in the long run, and he doesn't want to be with Bethany. Bethany doesn't want to be with Kit, and I feel like Jodie is going to be the one that could blow all of this up in the air."

Fallon was also asked about a major development coming up in the Jodie storyline, and appeared to confirm that viewers can expect a dramatic turn of events.

"Yeah, I think there's like a big dramatic thing that happens. I think Bethany's involved in it a tiny bit," she said, though she admitted to not remembering the details of the storyline.

Asked whether Bethany would support Kit through his cancer diagnosis, Fallon said: "Bethany's nature is to be supportive, and she wants to help him."

She added: "Even before the fact that they slept together, I think she knew something was going on. So it's Bethany's nature to kind of care for somebody, and I think that she will definitely want to be there for him, even though all this has already happened."

On whether Bethany will be involved in her mum Sarah's trial episodes, the actor said: "Yes, I'm very heavily involved in those. I'll be there repping the Platts, repping Sarah.

"Who knows what's going to happen? Hashtag free Sarah, perhaps."

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
