MOB National Taekwondo Championship: ‘We’re All Set To Stage A World-Class Event’ — NTF President Popoola

The Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos is fully primed to host the maiden edition of the Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB) National Taekwondo Championship, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 18 and 19.

As a prominent new fixture on the national combat sports calendar, the championship promises intense sparring, technical brilliance, and high-stakes bouts as athletes compete for gold medals and crucial ranking points.

The tournament brings together the country’s finest martial artists, ranging from seasoned veterans to rising prodigies eager to make their mark on the big stage. Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) President Tayo Popoola has assured stakeholders that the federation is fully committed to delivering a competition that meets strict global standards.

“We are all set to stage a world-class taekwondo event right here in Nigeria,” Popoola stated.

Popoola confirmed that preparations are complete and expressed strong confidence that newly procured equipment will provide an extra layer of motivation for participating athletes.

“We are not in any way taking chances with the MOB Championship because the sponsor is someone who wants perfection in all areas, and that is why we are trying to stage an event that is in conformity with global standards.

“New equipment to be used is ready, and all the athletes will also be happy to be part of this historical event.”
