Drug den dismantled in Legazpi; 5 nabbed, P714,000 shabu seized

LIGAO CITY — Five people were arrested and 105 grams of suspected shabu worth P714,000 were seized in a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay 32, San Roque, Legazpi City, on Oct. 9.

The suspects were identified by their aliases as “Pay,” 59, the alleged maintainer of the drug den and the subject of the search warrant; “Andrew,” 35, an alleged drug den employee; and three alleged frequent visitors: “Ella,” 26; “Myla,” 29; and “Soler,” 23.

Noe Briguel, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Albay provincial officer, said the operation was conducted in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation Bicol and other agencies to serve a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 7 Executive Judge Alym Almayda.

Authorities also seized glass tooters, lighters, aluminum foil and strips bearing suspected drug residue.

The five suspects face charges for alleged violations of Sections 6, 7, 11, 12 and 15 of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /mcm
