'Scene' trailer: Suriya plays a rebellious cop in Jithu Madhavan's action comedy; Thalapathy Vijay gets an indirect political reference - WATCH

scene trailer.

The trailer of Suriya's upcoming film 'Scene' has offered a glimpse into its mix of action, comedy and mystery. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film features Suriya as Inbaraj, a police officer who has little interest in following conventional rules.

Nazriya plays Maya, while Naslen appears as Eeswaran, a sharp and ruthless criminal. One of the trailer's notable moments also appears to make an indirect reference to Vijay's entry into politics. The makers unveiled the trailer on Saturday. Suriya shared the video on his X account and expressed his excitement about bringing the story to theatres. “Murder. Mystery. Madness… and a whole lot of laughter! Enjoy #Scene in theatres with friends and family! With love from us to you.

In cinemas from 6th Nov 2026! #DiwaliRelease,” Suriya wrote.

Suriya's Inbaraj refuses to follow police department orders

The trailer begins with Inbaraj deciding to resign from the police force. His decision catches his seniors, colleagues and subordinates off guard. He appears keen to spend time at home after leaving the department. However, his superior officer Stephen, played by Lal, repeatedly asks him to report to the office. When Inbaraj ignores the instructions, Stephen sends policemen to his residence to bring him in.

'Scene' trailer hints at an indirect Vijay reference

Stephen questions Inbaraj about his plans after quitting the force and asks why he quit at a time when he was at the peak of his career. The officer (Suriya) responds that he intends to enter politics. The dialogue appears to be an indirect reference to Vijay, who stepped away from his acting career to pursue a political path. The moment adds a topical element to the film's comedy.

Naslen plays a dangerous criminal opposite Suriya

Beyond the humor surrounding Inbaraj, the trailer introduces Eeswaran as a major challenge for the protagonist.

Played by Naslen, the character is portrayed as an intelligent and ruthless criminal. Eeswaran appears to regard Inbaraj as a worthy opponent. However, the police officer responds with his usual unconventional attitude, asking, “Am I your equal?” The trailer also offers a brief introduction to Nazriya's character, Maya.

The trailer ends with a funny reference to 'Singham' movie.

Jithu Madhavan directs Suriya's Deepavali release

'Scene' brings together a cast led by Suriya, Nazriya, Naslen and Lal. Jithu Madhavan has directed the film, while Vineeth Augustian has handled the cinematography. Sushin Shyam has composed the music.'Scene' is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026, during the Deepavali season and the expectations are high.
