In short:

Neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell and three other men have pleaded guilty to violent disorder over their part in an alleged attack on an Aboriginal protest camp in Melbourne last year.

Multiple men are facing court after a group stormed Camp Sovereignty, an Aboriginal burial and protest site, following an anti-immigration March for Australia rally.

What's next?

All four men are on bail and will return to the County Court next month.

Neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell has admitted his part in an alleged attack at an Indigenous protest site, but has told a court he disputed the version of events outlined by prosecutors.

Sewell, 33, alongside Nathan Bull, Jake Crokett and Michael Saarinen, today pleaded guilty in the County Court of Victoria to a count each of violent disorder.

Bull also pleaded guilty to failing to provide his name and address to police.

The men were part of a group that allegedly stormed Camp Sovereignty at Kings Domain on August 31, 2025, following an anti-immigration March for Australia rally, causing injury to five people.

When asked how they wished to plea, they each responded: "To the charges, guilty, but I contest the facts."

Camp Sovereignty is a sacred site for First Nations people, and is where the remains of 38 Indigenous people were buried after being repatriated from the Museum of Victoria.

The site is maintained by volunteers as a part-protest and part-vigil, caring for the country where ancestors are buried.

Multiple men facing charges

There are several other men before the court in relation to the incident.

Jaeden Johnson, Blake Cathcart and Zack Dewaart have also pleaded guilty to violent disorder.

Timothy Lutze had also entered a guilty plea but has since died.

All four men who entered guilty pleas on Wednesday had their bail extended, and are set to reappear before the County Court on November 9.

Sewell's defence barrister, Dermot Dann KC, said the defence would be calling witnesses to speak to context around what occurred on the day, including that cars were damaged.

Outside court, Sewell told reporters he would contest the facts of the case.

"The police and the media have lied about what occurred on August 31 last year," he said.

He refused to answer repeated questions over whether he was remorseful for the violence that took place.
